ESSEX U175 TEAM - THE 1994/95 SEASON
This was an extraordinary season, with the team losing all three of its matches in the first cycle of SCCU fixtures, but still managing to qualify for the National Stages as runners up thanks to victories in the return fixtures and favourable results elsewhere.
Good wins were registered against Norfolk in the quarter final and Greater Manchester in the semi-final to give the team its first appearance on finals day at the Clarendon Suite in Birmingham. However, in a match extended to 20 boards by the mutual agreement of the two captains, Essex simply did not do themselves justice on the day.
