ESSEX U175 TEAM - THE 1995/96 SEASON
After the near miss of 1994/95, this was a season of underachievement. The team played well enough at home, but the new captain Stuart Bates found it difficult to organise sufficiently strong sides for away matches, and defaults were incurred in the fixtures at Sutton and Crawley which were to cost the team dear in terms of its chances of qualifying for the national stages.
