After the tense SCCU qualifying competition, the national quarter final proved a relatively straightforward task for an Essex team which opted to travel to Norwich instead of insisting on a neutral venue. The disparity in strength between the SCCU and the EACU was highlighted by the substantial grading difference between the two sides, and the outcome was never really in doubt.
